2011 Mad Dog Scramble
The 20th running of the Mad Dog Scramble on October 30 couldn't have been a nicer day. We were blessed with beautiful weather, and from what many of you have told us, the course was challenging but a lot of fun.
If you see any discrepancy, please contact us. Some of you have asked questions about the distances and times. Waves 7-10 ran the farthest distance of approximately 8 km, while Waves 3-6 ran an intermediate distance of almost 7 km. Waves 1 and 2 were designed for walkers, and so the distance was a little shorter yet. The distances are largely irrelevant, as the challenge is coping with the water crossings and steep hills. For your net time, subtract the wave delay, which is listed at the top of the results page.
A special mention of all our sponsors is necessary; they are listed below. Some are corporate sponsors, well known to all, but many donations are from members of XSNRG Running Club who work for our various sponsors. The great prizes contributed by these sponsors and XSNRG members have become an important part of the annual Mad Dog event.
Another special Thank You is extended to the volunteers, also listed below. The race takes many people to organize it, and without the volunteers, the race simply could not go on.
Photos continue to be added to our site and can be viewed there. If you have any photos that you wish to share, simply send them to us, and we will try to post them along with the others.
If there are any further updates, I will keep you posted. Otherwise, thank you for making this another great Mad Dog.
Remember, keep the last Sunday of October on your calendar for next year's race. I look forward to seeing you then.
